What is the maximum load capacity of the T104 mechanical timer?

The T104 mechanical timer has a maximum load capacity of 40 amps. This makes it suitable for heavy-duty applications such as controlling commercial lighting systems, pumps, or industrial machinery. Its robust build is designed to handle high electrical loads without overheating, ensuring reliable performance in demanding conditions.

How does the T104 mechanical timer work?

The T104 timer operates on a mechanical clock system that allows you to set specific ON and OFF cycles throughout the day. The timer can be configured for 24-hour periods, which means you can program it to turn your devices on and off at designated intervals. This is ideal for managing energy consumption for outdoor lighting or HVAC systems, enhancing both efficiency and convenience.

Is the T104 timer weatherproof?

While the T104 mechanical timer is designed for heavy-duty applications, it is essential to note that it is not fully weatherproof. It is intended for indoor use or sheltered outdoor use where it is protected from moisture. To ensure longevity and proper function, it should be installed in a dry environment, making it suitable for garages, basements, or covered patios.

Can I use the T104 timer for outdoor applications?

Yes, the T104 timer can be used for outdoor applications as long as it is installed in a weather-protected area. This makes it an ideal choice for controlling outdoor lighting, fountains, or irrigation systems. Just ensure that the timer is housed in an enclosure that shields it from direct exposure to rain or snow.

What type of power supply does the T104 timer require?

The T104 mechanical timer operates on a power supply of 208-240 volts. It is specifically designed for commercial use, making it suitable for environments requiring a higher voltage, such as factories or large commercial facilities. This ensures a reliable power source for high-demand equipment and appliances.

How do I set the timer on the T104?

Setting the T104 timer is straightforward. Simply rotate the timer dial to the current time, and then push down the pins to set the desired ON and OFF times. Each pin represents a 15-minute interval, allowing for precise programming. This easy-to-use mechanism is perfect for automating tasks like turning on shop lights or sprinklers at scheduled times.

What is the difference between DPST and SPST in mechanical timers?

DPST stands for Double Pole Single Throw, while SPST stands for Single Pole Single Throw. The T104, being DPST, can control two circuits simultaneously, which is beneficial in applications requiring multiple loads to be managed together. In contrast, SPST can only manage one circuit, making DPST timers suitable for more complex setups, such as controlling both lighting and heating in a workshop.

Can multiple T104 timers be used together?

Yes, multiple T104 timers can be used in combination to control various devices or systems across a commercial facility. By coordinating each timer’s settings, you can create a comprehensive automation plan that manages energy consumption effectively, ensuring that different areas, such as break rooms and production lines, operate independently based on specific schedules.

What is the lifespan of the T104 mechanical timer?

The T104 mechanical timer is designed for durability and longevity in demanding environments. Its mechanical components can withstand thousands of cycles, making it a reliable choice for continuous use. Users typically find the timer can last for many years, making it a cost-effective solution for managing power without frequent replacements.
